                                                DEATH OF GOV. ELLIS

            Gov. Ellis left Raleigh about the 21^st ultimo, for the springs in Virginia.  It was said that he suffered from the fatigue of travel, but it was hoped that he would ultimately be benefited by the visit and relaxation from business.  But this hope, it appears, has not been realized.  A report reached here Monday evening that he was dead.  He died at Red Sulphur Springs on Sunday last.
